Ruston, Thomas (c. 1740-1804)

Physician.

Lived in England from 1766 until 1785, when he returned to Pennsylvania.

During the war he sent news from England to Franklin, who introduced him to the financier Robert Morris. His business ventures with Morris ended badly, and both men spent time in prison (c. 1796).

Born in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Married c. 1771 to Mary Fisher. M.D., Edinburgh (1765).
