Murdock, William (c. 1710-1769)

Maryland assemblyman.

Planter. County sheriff (1740); active in local affairs. Represented Prince George’s County in Maryland Assembly (1749-69). Member of Stamp Act Congress (1765). Chaired committee to draft a petition protesting the Townshend duties.

Son of John and (probably) Katherine (Barton) Murdock of Prince George’s County Married (1) Anne Addison; seven children. Married (2) Margaret (Dulany) Hamilton (1757); one daughter.
