Son of Jean-Paul-Timoléon and Marie- Josèphe (Durey de Sauroy) de Cossé, duc and duchesse de Brissac. Married Adélaïde- Hortense Mancini; one daughter. Went by the title “marquis de Cossé-Brissac” until he succeeded to the dukedom (1780).
