Lunt, Henry (b. c. 1753)

American seaman.

Served as a seaman on the Alfred, on the Providence under John Paul Jones, and on the privateer Dalton with his cousin Cutting Lunt. Captured by the British and confined in Old Mill Prison (June 1777-December 1778). Exchanged; arrived at Nantes (March 1779). Second lieutenant of the Bonhomme Richard; commanded a pilot boat in the battle with the H.M.S. Serapis (September 1779). Later served as first lieutenant on the Alliance under Jones.
