Author of Mémoire sur l’administration de la Ferme Généralle (1774 or 1780). Received Turgot, Malherbes, Condorcet, and Dupont de Nemours at his salon. Arranged a tour of the King’s library for Franklin (1777).
As director of the tobacco department, was involved in tobacco negotiations with the American Commissioners (1777).
Father-in-law of the famous chemist and Farmer-General, Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier. Married in 1752 to Claude Thpynet de Rozière.
