Dodd, William (1729-1777)

Writer and Anglican clergyman.

In the 1760s Dodd achieved success as a minister and author and became socially prominent, but his high living earned him the nickname “the macaroni parson.” He was hanged for forgery in 1777.

Married Mary Perkins in 1751.
