Weiser, Samuel (b. 1735)

Pennsylvania Indian agent, interpreter, and militia officer.

Sent with his tutor Daniel Claus to live among the Mohawks in New York and learn the language so that he might succeed his father as province interpreter (1751-53). Militia officer in Seven Years’ War. Frequently acted as his father’s assistant, messenger, and travel companion.

Son of Conrad and Ann Eve (Feck) Weiser. Married Judith Levan (1760).
