French merchant who settled in Montreal.

Furnished American officers with various supplies during their stay in Quebec (1775-76). Suspected by Sir Frederick Haldimand, the British governor of Quebec, of favoring the American cause, he was imprisoned for nearly three years.

Apparently visited Franklin in Passy. Later solicited Franklin’s help in obtaining payment from Congress for the supplies furnished to the Americans (1784).
