Built a powder mill near Germantown (February-March 1776). Taken prisoner by the British (c. December 1777); exchanged for Christopher Sower (1778). Claimed substantial damages after British occupation.

Resided at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Queen Lane. Name also spelled “Lush.”
