Active in Neuchâtel city government. Founded (1769) and directed the Société typographique de Neuchâtel, which specialized in reprinting books in a less costly format.

Published Histoire abrégée des troubles du pays de Neuchâtel and two geographic works. Authored the article on Neuchâtel in the Encyclopédie.
