Du Bouchet, Denis-Jean-Florimond de Langlois de Mautheville, chevalier (1752-1826)

Officer in the American army (1777). Brother of the comtesse de Conway. Sous- lieutenant in the regiment of la Marche (1770).

Went with his brother-in-law, Thomas Conway, to America, where he was given the rank of captain (1777). Promoted to major after the battle of Saratoga. Back in France (1778).

Returned to the United States as Rochambeau’s aide-de-camp (1780).

Returned to France. Breveted lieutenant- colonel of infantry (1783). Chevalier de Saint- Louis (1783).

Briefly returned to the United States to solicit his admission into the Society of the Cincinnati (1784).

Born in Clermont, Puy-de-Dôme. Later became marquis.
