Daughter of Jacques-Donatien Le Ray de Chaumont and Marie-Thérèse Jogues Le Ray de Chaumont.
During Franklin’s stay in Passy, she took charge of obtaining various household supplies for him and Temple, and kept their household accounts. Franklin fondly referred to her as both mère Bobie (the name of one of her father’s ships) and ma femme.
Married in 1787 to François Véron de Forbonnais, a prominent economist and family friend.
