Rector of Ecton parish, Northamptonshire (1743-62). Franklin and his son William visited Whalley at Ecton (1758), and Whalley later sent Franklin copies of his ancestors’ vital records from the Ecton parish register.

Son of a well-established Northamptonshire family. Educated at Oxford (B.A. 1726).
