French soldier.
Served in the cavalry regiment of Berry (1760-76). Carrying letters from Silas Deane, he embarked for the United States in November 1776, but was captured by the British, and imprisoned for nearly eight months.
Aggressively sought compensation for his service. Served as a lieutenant in the foreign volunteer corps of the marines in Lauzun’s legion, which he accompanied to America in 1780. Retired in 1786.
