Nephew and student of the Italian physicist Giambatista Beccaria. Sent Franklin a copy of his De novis quibuidam experimentis electricis, published in the Memoirs of the Academy of Turin for 1765. He later became Professor of Anatomy at the University of Turin. Secretary of the Academy of Sciences of Turin (1783).
