Soldier.

Artilleryman in the Bavarian service. Engineer in the French service. Stationed in Guadeloupe (1769-72). Forced to retire (January 1, 1777) and charged with misconduct in the West Indies.

Following his return to France, he unsuccessfully fought the charges. Proposed to head a school to prepare American engineers and artillerymen.
