Inquired about the Vicomte de Vaux (formerly the Anonyme), which he outfitted, and the Lion, in which he had a part interest. The two ships departed from Lorient for America (December 1777) but were captured and never arrived at their destination.

Attempted to obtain a land grant in America in recompense for his financial losses (1782).
