Wheelwright and amateur vintner in London.
Partner of Joseph Jacob in a carriage- building firm. Worked with Franklin to develop a new method of making wheels in one piece. He and Jacob quarreled over the patent rights after his partner patented the method in 1771. Viny continued to operate the firm for the creditors after it went bankrupt in 1778.
Franklin apparently ordered two set of carriage wheels from him (1783).
Brother of Thomas Viny. Close friend of Polly Stevenson.
