Pennsylvania congressman.

First lieutenant (1775) in the Fourth Pennsylvania Regiment; captain (1776), then major (1777) in “Congress’s Own” regiment. Received land grant for his services. Member of Continental Congress (1787-89).

Son of James Reid of York County, Pennsylvania. Educated at Princeton (A.B. 1775).
