Member of the First and Second Provincial Congresses of South Carolina (1774-76). Captain in the First South Carolina Regiment (1775-76). Member of Continental Congress (1776-77). Embarked for France to recover health (1779); lost at sea.
Son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Allston) Lynch of Berkeley County, South Carolina. Educated at Eton College, Cambridge, and the Middle Temple.
