Immigrated to Philadelphia as a young man and established himself as a merchant. Suspected of Loyalist sympathies; his property was briefly sequestered (1779). Alderman (1789-1800). Associate judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas (1794- 1800).
Son of Peter Keen of Barbados. Married (1) Christiana Stille (1762); eleven children. Married (2) Patience (Barclay) Worrell (1780). Married (3) Anne Lawrence (1782); nine children.
