From the Comtesse d’Houdetot (unpublished)
Paris, Friday morning

The Comtesse d'Houdetot sends a thousand warm regards to Mr. Franklin. She so informs him and his [grand]son that there will be no music today at her house because of the illness of her brother with whom she will spend the afternoon. She will go to see Mr. Franklin as soon as she can and greatly regrets being deprived of the pleasure of seeing him today. Mme. d'Houdetot begs Mr. Franklin to send word that he has received this note.
