The Petition of William Nichols

Respectfully Sheweth

That your Petitioner had the Honor of being appointed Clerk of the City Court, and of the Orphans Court for the City and County of Philadelphia about eighteen Months ago. That he has held the Office Since that time, and done the duties of them he trusts, faithfully and with reputation, That under a resolve of Your Honorable Board, of May last, it appears that officers who hold commissions in the Gift of the Supreme Executive Council are to be annually Elected. Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays your Honorable Board may be pleased to re elect him to the Offices he now holds, and your Petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &ca.
