Joseph Galloway to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
London Octr. 28. 1783
Sir,

It is some time since I received a Letter from you wrote at the request of your Grandfather desiring that I would send him his last Will committed to my trust when we were both in Pennsylvania. In Answer to which my Daughter informed you that it was destroyed among other papers of his and mine at my Country Seat by a Mob. When my daughter wrote I verily believed this to be the fact. But having lately received from New York a few Papers saved when my House and property was destroyed and examining them yesterday I found I had carefully put it up among my most valuable papers and by a mere accident saved it with them. It is with much satisfaction that I now inclose it to you sealed as it was delivered to me. I beg you will inform your Gd.father of these circumstances, and deliver it to him. I am Sir your most obedt. Servt.

J. Galloway
