My much respected friend and father—Philadelphia April 28th: 1780.

—For those names are due to you from me, especially when I am about to add to my debt of gratitude to you by recommending to your patronage the bearer of this letter Dr. John Foulke and the Son of one of your old friends. He has studied and graduated with reputation in our University, and visits Paris in order to complete his Studies in Medicine. He carries with him the good wishes of thousands. Your attention and advice to him will be gratefully by his large circle of connections, and will add to the many Obligations conferred on Dear and honoured Sir your much Obliged, and most devoted humble Servant
