I received the Letter you did me the honour of writing to me the 14th Instant, respecting the Convention for ascertaining the Powers and Privileges of Consuls. On Searching among my Papers, I do not find that I have a Copy of it as it was finally agreed to and signed. I must therefore request you would be pleased to send me such a Copy; by comparing which with the original Draft sent to me by Congress, I hope I may be enabled to recollect the Reasons and Motives for each Deviation; and those I will immediately furnish you with.
