Dear Sir

I have to reply to the honor of your favor of the 8th Decr.

That my Wine proves to your satisfaction gives me sincere pleasure, I took every precaution for that purpose. I have by me that is seven years in Bottle. I meet with none superior. Age will encrease its flavor. It ought to be at present in a high drinking State.

The inclosed Invoice was omited, not from inadvertance but from design had not the quality proved Good say to your taste it would have given me pain to have transmitted the Cost but that doubt being raised I transmit the Account with pleasure.

Young Mr. Vernon having applied to me for some Assistance I wrote a few lines to Mr. Grand to know if I could dispose of that sum you assign’d for my reimbursement in reply he informed me he waited your instructions and desired me to defer drawing.

Great misinteligence subsists in the different Political Branches of this Kingdom. A Strenuous struggle is exerted by the Parliaments to fix the Prerogatives of the Crown and establish the Powers which they regard inherent in them. The Parliament of this City has been translated to a small inland Town where they are orderd to hold their Court, to which they object and refuse every official Duty. All Judicial jurisdiction is Suspended—a Paper War Subsists. I transmit you some of the Memorials for your amusement. The Ideas of Regal rights take a new form. It is possible great Change in the Constitutions of this Kingdom may take place which may posibly stand in as much need of being remodeld as the United States that are but just launch out of Embryo.

Inclosd is an Extrait which was supprest that few Copies appeard. The sentiments of the Court are not masked.

Administration appears attentive to all that may tend to promote the good inteligence that reigns betwixt this Kingdom and the United States. You will have seen the late regulations that have taken place for the admission of Sundry American Staples by a Suppression of Duties, this in all probability will draw a considerable share of your Produce to this Kingdom the Market being in general superior to any other we wish to find a Vessle for our   Wines and Brandys which would truely form Mutual advantageous Exchanges.

My respectful Compliments to Docter franklin who has my most sincere wishes for a long preservation of health with sincere regard I have the honor to be Dear sir Your very humble servant

John Bondfield
