Benjamin Vaughan to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)

B Vaughan presents his best regards to Mr: Franklin, and informs him that he believes his father is in England, an event that must greatly interest him. It will perhaps be less interesting to Mr Franklin, to hear that BV is at present in Paris. It will not however be till the afternoon that he can pay his respects to Mr Franklin & once more embrace him; first because his baggage is not arrived, and next because Mr Oswald will probably bring him agreeable news this morning, to which BV might be an interruption, as these are conversations in which he has no right to share. If Mr: Vaughan recovers his baggage, (for which Mr V—n’s brother is waiting at Calais), Mr V will be able to give a good account of the commissions he was favored with from Passy.

Mr: V—n is most happy to hear that Dr. Franklin is so much on the recovery.
