Dear Sir

It gives Singular pleasure to be informed that You Enjoy a tollerable share of health with Your usual flow of Spirits. May you long continue So to do.

By favour of Mr. S. Vaughan I have done My Self the honour to Send My little attempt towards obtaining Invariable Measures, which I have every reason to expect will effectually answer the end proposed. As I conceive that the Subject is of some importance, I Should be happy that Some of your Ingenious Mechanics will consider it well, with a view towards its application. Doctr. Muskeyline has made me an offer to keep the machine under his inspection at the Observatory, in order to Authenticate its going, which I conceive to be essentially necessary before it can become applicable to the purpose intended. I am Dear Sir with best wishes for Your health and comfort Your Most Obedient Servant
