Lord Daer to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Paris Friday evening

Lord Daer presents his Compliments to Mr. Wm. Franklin. He was sorry to lose the pleasure of his company at the race; but at the same time can assure him, the whole affair was so ill conducted that he need not regret having missed it.

When L. D. received the note he meant to have accepted the kind invitation for sunday. He has however been not quite well today & begs leave therefore to decline it as he thinks he may perhaps not have it in power to get far out so soon

Addressed: A Monsieur / Monsieur Franklin / a Passy
