Sir,

Altho’ I have not the Honor of a personal Acquaintance with you, yet my being related to your Family, and your well-known Character encourage me to take the Liberty of introducing to your Mr. David Franks. He is a young Gentleman who serv’d four Years in the Office of Mr. Thos. Franks of York St in this City, an Attorney of very great Eminence in this Kingdom; and, I can assure you, establish’d by his Conduct a Character for Diligence and Integrity. He is going to America on a Visit to his Unkle Mr. Carrl Mc.namara of Virginia; and as I know that your Countenance and Protection will be of the most essential Service to him, I have presum’d, altho’ unknown to you, to introduce him to your Notice. I can only assure you that (independent of my general Esteem and Admiration of your Countrymen) your Introduction of any of your Friends or Acquaintances who may have Occasion to visit Ireland, will command from me every Exertion to oblige and serve them.
