George Bickham within named being duly Sworn deposeth and saith that John McClelan now or late of the County of York Merchant and Trader is indebted unto this Deponent in the sum of one hundred and ninety five pounds one shilling and ten pence arising upon a Transaction subsequent to the sixteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty five. And Thomas Wistar within named being duly Affirmed (he being one of the people called Quakers) Affirmeth and saith that the said John McClelan is indebted unto this Affirmant in the sum of one hundred and forty pounds twelve shillings and eight pence, arising upon a Transaction subsequent to the said sixteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty five. And the said George Bickham on his Oath, and said Thomas Wistar on his Affirmation, severally say that the said John McClelan is become a Bankrupt within the meaning of the Act of Assembly passed on the said sixteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty five entitled “An Act for the regulation of Bankruptcy” as they are informed and verily believe. And further say not.
