(In answer to yours of 13 Decr. 16 Jany) my Grandfather approves the Step you are about to take, as it has the Sanction of yr. parents. Inclosed are Some letters of recommendation from him & me to persons residing in Philadelphia; as you purpose Settling there they will be the only necessary ones. I heartily wish you a prosperous voyage [?] [?] [?][?]. My Grandfather joins with me in this & every other wish for yr Welfare & Happiness, I am as ever most sinc: & aff. yours
