I have inclosed copy of a letter from Mr. Garbutt and my answer, and I hope Mr. John Tyler will immediately take the necessary measures to pay his debts here and release his Legacy. If I am to follow it into Chancery, he must furnish me with funds and instructions. Chancery will pursue a line of Equity and order the Debts to be paid first out of the Legacy. Mr. Garbutt writes himself and as an Exor will run no Risque.
I have recd. £6..10..9 from Mesrs. Smith Wright and Gray on your acct. I am just return’d from Devonshire where the family have been this Summer on acct. of my Sisters Health. She is rather better but continues much of an Invalid. I am Dear Sir Your most humble Servant
