To Jean-Baptiste Le Roy (unpublished)
Philada. Dec. 18[?] 1788
My dear old Friend,

This Line will be delivered to you by Mr Gouverneur Morris, a Gentleman of Distinction in this Country, of excellent Character, and much esteemed by all that know him. As a Friend of mine, I recommend him earnestly to your Civilities.

We have nothing new here at present in the Philosophical way. If we had I should communicate it to you. We talk indeed of publishing a third Volume of our Transactions; but I do not think we have yet Papers enough of Importance to do it with Reputation. If the Academy have publish’d any thing lately, you can give it for me to Mr Grand, who will send it to me. My best Wishes attend you and your good Brother, being ever, my dear Friend, Yours most affectionately

B Franklin
