My Dear Franklin

I Called of you at Chaumont in my way from Nantes & was Glad to find you were returned as I Supposed you were recoverd Compleatly which was Confirmd to me by your Good Father, when I called last week. Inclosed is a letter for you & another for L’abbé de La Roche, which you will be so kind as to deliver at meeting. I also Inclose you a letter from Captn John Kinnier which I beg you will enable me to answer. Please also Inform the Doctor that Captn Cuningham informed me that He had offers of a french frigate of 30 Guns but did not Choose to accept without an American Comr. as He will not expose Himself to the fate of Ryan & Some others—Besides he wishes to make prisoners to Exchge, & to make up an American Crew which he Can get—I Esteem Cuningham much, & If any reason prevents the Doctor from appearing in this Business I will apply to the Minister myself, I shall be at Paris in 2 or 3 days mean while Let me hear from you If you Can—I am ever wt great Esteem Dear Franklin Yours
