Philadelphia 21 July 1781
Dear Sir

I wrote you by different conveyances since my arrival here, accompanying sundry News papers, and do now send a further small Collection.

Mr Samuel Griffitts of this City. to whom I am to commit this, is a young Gentleman intends for Europe to prosecute his Studys in the physical line—Permit me to introduce him to your Acquaintance, civilitys & Notice—I know you Will take pleasure in rendering Paris as agreeable as possible to a Stranger, Especially to a Country Man whose prudence, I doubt Not, will always secure to him your kindness, after a short Acquaintance.—I beg my best Respects to your Grandfather, it will give me pleasure to hear of his welfare as I cannot, now, I think, expect even to see him on this side the Atlantic.— Believe me most Sincerely Dear Sir Your friend & obedient Servant
