My dear sir

Inclosed you have the Direction of the Buckle Maker from whom I had yours made. they are gone or going by a friend Mr. Cosvelt a Safe Conveyance: you had so limitted me in the Choice of your Buckles, that may be you’ll think them too plain. they are not bent enough I suppose but that you can best get done. The price is 3..10.

My poor Coat is not yet come; can you form a judgement where the Obstacle lies?

Le Borde le marin is here with a great number of french Officers. I spent the evening with our good friend Dr. Bancroft yesterday. I wish I could spend to day’s with you
