William Temple Franklin to J. Woodmason (unpublished)
Passy 17 July 1781
Sir,

I received by Mr. Laurent, some time since, the Ream of thin Copying paper, the letter Book, 3 Setts of wetting & drying Books, 12 paves of Ink Powder, & four oiled Papers, so that there remains to compleat my Grandfathers Order of 14 May 81: four of Wedgewood & Bentley’s Fountain Ink Pots & a Packet of Paper Wafers.

The object of this letter is to request you would send as soon as possible these last articles & likewise you acct. of what is owing to you The amount of which shall be immediately remitted.—

I have wrote several times lately to M Caslon, but have recd. no answer. What can be the cause of this? My last to him went by a Mr. Brown in which I requested him to send me a few Handkerchiefs of which I beg you to remind him, and make him acquainted with any Opportunity that may offer, of sending them to me.— I am, Sir &ca.— ps. The wetting & drying Books will not, I imagine, make Part of your new acct. as none were sent with the Presses.—

F.
