Milord

I dare take the liberty to call to minde what your Lordship Very readily replied to Monsr. Le Chevalier D   who had this honour to present some time ago to your Grace a memorial relative the trading to the American Continents, intimating him that a direct answer would be made.

However bold might be the steps I take, I beseech your Lordship to be gratiously pleased to grant this my humble request and order a favourable answer to be made to it.

Altho the Ports of America are open to all nations, it seems yet that those vessells who are so happy as to partake of particular marks of your Lordships benevolence meet generaly with more freedom than those without.

I shall esteem myself very happy and look upon as a very particular mark of your Lordships favour If my request Can meet with a Succesful reply. I have the honour to remain with the utmost Respect Milord Your most humble and obedient servant
