Dear Sir

My long Indisposition has prevented Me from the pleasure of waiting upon you; And now I am to ask the Favor of you to recommend my Son Richard Wharton Attorney at Law to Colonel Armstrong, President of the Court of Quarter Sessions and Common Pleas in Cumberland County. My Son is going to settle in Dauphin County And proposes to practice in Lancaster, Cumberland, Berks, and Dauphin Counties. He studied the Law under Mr. Lewis, and was admitted here and Chester County about Twelve Months past. Any Recommendations That you may be pleased to favor him with will be esteemed, As a particular Kindness done to Me. I am with the most sincere Respect and Esteem your Excellency’s Most obedient and most humble Servant
