Jonathan Williams, Jr. to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Nantes June 6. 1780.
My dear Billy—

Mr Ross went this morning for Paris & he soon proposes to return hither. I should be glad to have by him the Copies of my accts certified by the Doctor as you kindly undertook to have done for me. If they are not ready & you cannot conveniently find a Person to undertake to Copy them pray ask the Doctor to confide the Originals to me & I will have them copied here. If this can be done Mr Ross will bring them down & I will return them again by the first private Hand.

The French it seems have been successfull against Rodney I suppose each Party gives a different acct, Pray how stands the Truth?

I am yours affectionately

Jona Williams J
