To George Morgan (unpublished)
Philada. Sept. 23. 1788
Dear Sir,

I am much oblig’d to you for communicating to me the Baron de Poellnitz’s Letter, and to that Gentleman for his kind Offer of coming here to administer to me a Remedy for the Stone. I cannot think, however, of giving him that Trouble; especially as I have been very easy with mine for some time past, which makes me think its Surface is grown smooth; and I fear that any thing capable of dissolving its Surface, might render it rough again, and renew the Pains I have formerly suffer’d. But as my Grandson, Temple Franklin, is to be at New York in about two Weeks, I shall be thankful to the Baron for showing him the Process of Extracting and taking the fix’d Air, that I may see whether it differs from that communicated to me some Years since from England.

I have already laid before the Council your Son’s Letter, and shall take care to have the Enrollment made which you desire, being with great Esteem, Dear Sir, Your most obedient humble Servant

B Franklin
