From Francis Childs (unpublished)
New York. Oct. 5. 1786.
Dear Sir

I take the liberty of soliciting your attention to the forwarding the Imperfections necessary for the Completion of the Office. I was in hopes to have received them by Mr. Swain but his short stay in Philadelphia on his return from Lancaster prevented his calling on you. If they are cast, permit me to beg that they may be sent by the first conveyance, or they will soon be too high for a considerable part of the Letter in use the office being used only partially as a considerable part of every fount is useless.

I have not seen Mr. Bache since his arrival at this place, owing to his being mostly on Long Island. Inclosed you have Mr. Kollocks note of Hand for £88. 6s. 11d. which Mr. Swaine was to have left with you, but omitted doing thro mistake. I could wish you to take the trouble of writing to him, as it may probably create a greater desire for punctuality. When you send the note back let it be to Mr. Bache, with an order for receiving the money, which then can be placed to my Credit. Mr. Bache will have no trouble, as I will gladly do all the Business, or render any other services in my power. I think myself under great additional obligations by your indulgence in waiting and am Dear Sir With great Regard Your obliged Humble Servant

Francis Childs
