From Francis Childs (unpublished)
New Yak Feb. 28. 1787
Dear Sir

I hope before this that the Small Pica has come to hand—it was Ship’t a long time on board Vessell which I expected would have been Resent that sailed, (The New York Packet Capt. Bird).

I have the Great Primer now ready and shall put it on board of the first Vessell that offers.

Since I have enjojyed myself in taking down the Debates of the Assembly, I’m obliged to devote myself so much to that service, that I scarce can do any thinelse. I’m obliged to attend the house from 10 till half 3 oClock—and it takes me till midnight to transcribe my notes.

There is nothing Sir, I prize more than your good opinion, and beleive me that your last has given me very severe sensations. I hope Sir you will never occasion again and be displ[eased] In haste I am with Respects &.
