Gorjy, Jean-Claude (1753-1795)

Prolific novelist and playwright. Secretary of Yves-Marie Desmaretz, comte de Maillebois (1777). Author of the novels Blançay (London and Paris, 1788), Victorine (Paris, 1789), Saint-Alme (Paris, 1790), and Lidorie (Paris, 1792). His comedy in three acts, Les torts apparents, ou la Famille américaine, was performed at the Palais Royal on March 15, 1787.
