Merchant and colonial agent.

Sent by his father, then lieutenant governor of New Hampshire, to meet with the Board of Trade in England (1701). There he married and spent the remainder of his life.

Served as agent for several colonies, starting with Rhode Island in 1715 and including Pennsylvania (1740-59).
