Physician.

Probably John Hunter (d. 1809), a Scotsman who was educated at Edinburgh (M.D., 1775), served as a British army physician in Jamaica (1781-83), and then established a practice in London. He was elected to the Royal Society (c. 1787) and the College of Physicians (1793).
