Davies, Cecilia (1750?-1836)

Singer, sister of armonica player and Franklin correspondent Marianne (Mary Anne) Davies.

Davies was a great success as a singer, often accompanying her sister’s armonica playing. She was a favorite at the Viennese court and later in Italy where she earned the nickname ‘L’Inglesina.’ She was in France (with her mother and sister) in 1778.

Davies died, impoverished, in England.
