Finney, David (d. 1806)

Delaware lawyer and judge.

Practiced law in New Castle, Delaware. Judge for New Castle County (1771); justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware (1778). Ardent Whig; lost much of his fortune by speculating in continental paper currency. Friend of John Dickinson. Consulted Franklin about an inheritance case that was being prosecuted in the British courts (1774, 1781).

Born in America. Educated in Ireland. Married Ann Thompson, who was of Irish extraction. Six children.
